Thyroiditis, a disease that produces inflammatory changes due to destruction or necrosis of the follicular structure of the thyroid gland. Common types include Hashimoto's thyroiditis, atrophic thyroiditis, painless thyroiditis, and postpartum thyroiditis. Thyroiditis can be caused by a variety of factors, including viral infections, autoimmunity, trauma, excessive iodine intake or use of drugs such as interferon and amiodarone, and radiation damage. The clinical manifestations of thyroiditis vary, with the overall manifestations being localized symptoms such as thyroid enlargement and pain, and systemic symptoms such as hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism caused by changes in thyroid function. We have established a stable model of thyroiditis caused by different triggers, which is suitable for preclinical research and new drug evaluation of drugs for the treatment of thyroiditis.
