Uterine fibroids are benign growths from the smooth muscle tissue of the uterus. The disease predominantly affects women between the ages of 30 and 50 and may develop although it is less common in the group under 20 years of age. Potential patients may have no obvious symptoms and instead the disease is detected through a physical examination. Uterine fibroids are classified based on their relationship to the uterine wall, such as interstitial, subplasma, and submucosal fibroids, with interstitial fibroids being the most common, with a prevalence of 60% to 70%. We have established a stable model of uterine fibroids caused by different causative factors, which is suitable for preclinical research and new drug evaluation of drugs for the treatment of uterine fibroids.
