Dermatomyositis is an autoimmune disease characterized by distinctive skin damage and muscle weakness. Based on clinical manifestations and pathologic features, dermatomyositis can be divided into several types, the most common of which are adult dermatomyositis (ADM) and pediatric dermatomyositis (JDM). Currently, its treatment is based on glucocorticoid or glucocorticoid combined with immunosuppressive therapy. Some patients who are ineffective on both hormones and immunosuppressants may undergo plasma exchange. If the disease is not treated or controlled in time, it may lead to serious complications and even death. Preventive methods include strengthening personal hygiene, preventing infection, and paying attention to sun protection.
